Responsibilities :
Under the Lead of UPS commodity manager, this person is in charge of the purchasing of IPO export business related to UPS (uninterrupted power supply) and/or UPS batteries.
Market
- In accordance with IPO and Group purchasing policy, and following Group Market Buyer market strategy (Supplier panel definition, Market shares assignment) and orientations (Market trends, Road map, New projects), define mid and long term action plans to provide the best answer to the Group needs, manage RFQs
- By delegation from the Group Market buyer, negotiate and implement legal contracts with the selected suppliers, with support of IPO teams
- Work to improve the KPIs (incl & not limited to: Savings plan, capital employed, supplier risk management). Accountable for the KPIs of this scope of activities.
- Be in charge of continuous improvement for yearly saving plan. He/she ensures that progress is made on action plans drawn up to fulfil previously defined savings targets.
- Resolve serious conflicts between the company and suppliers
Projects
Work closely with Group UPS R&D and Marketing, and the internal “clients”: the Legrand UPS Business Units in Italy, Turkey, India, Brazil and France, to :
- Ensure we’ve got sufficient product specifications to get the most efficient answer from the related suppliers.
- Ensure that the supplier has fully understood our needs and drawn up an adapted action plan.
- Regularly visit and follow the R&D development or adaptation within our OEM and ODM suppliers (who have R&D in Taiwan or China, and production in China).
- Animate regular project management conference calls with the supplier, client business unit, Group R&D, Group Marketing, Group and IPO purchasing.
- Follow-up all the industrialization and “Legrandisation” of these products, including manuals, packaging, supply chain logistics.
- Ensure a first level technical validation of all products to propose for validation
- Coordinate any quality feedback and necessary corrective / preventive actions.
Communication
- Very close team work with the Group Market buyer in charge fir this specific market.
- Need to work closely with different group industrial, R&D, and purchasing teams
Travel
- Frequent travel needed covering mainly Asian regions, and occasional travels to Europe, Brazil and India.
Requirements:
- Multinational company working experience > 3-5 years, including at least 2-3 years experience in UPS industry. With UPS technical and engineering background. Have a deep knowledge of UPS and batteries supply market. Ideally with Purchasing experience.
- High integrity of ethical behavior
- Bachelor degree, major in Business , or in Electronic, or in Mechanical
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Result oriented.
- High Communication Skill
- Proficient in English
- Proficient with computer skills
